People have three major resources to manage: Talents, Time and Treasure (assets). At King's Court, we believe that managing them well glorifies God and helps lead to an enriched life. We help our clients reach these goals through effective financial and lifestyle strategies.
Lifestyle and resource management
Our study and experience shows there are three key areas, which we help our clients consider:
Financial resource management
We help you take practical steps to managing your finances in a way that is pleasing to God by helping you apply a disciplined approach to Giving, Spending and Saving.
Giving: Giving money to others models God's character, reflects our devotion and is a personal attempt to reverse economic injustice inthe world. We can advise on questions such as: How much should you give, to whom and with what attitude? Is paying taxes a form of giving? Is tithing enough?
+Jesus said: "The truth is that this poor widow gave more to the collection than all the others put together. All the others gave what they'll never miss; she gave extravagantly what she couldn't afford - she gave her all." Mark 12:41-44 (The Message)
Spending: We all spend our money on essentials that our standard of living demands – however we also spend it on luxury items. We help our clients decide what is the difference between the two. What should motivate your spending? How should you spend your money to achieve your goals?
+Jesus said: "You can't worship two gods at once. Loving one God, you'll end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can't worship God and Money both." Matthew 6:24 (The Message)
Saving: How much should we save, why save and where should we put our savings? There are many organisations and methods for investing – some are comparatively safe, others with degrees of risk. Even historically safe investments have recently been shown to be insecure.
What if we don't have enough money to save? Building up savings is not a substitute for trusting God or an excuse for not being generous. We help clients find the balance between saving and giving – a healthy tension captured by Wesley: "Earn all you can, save all you can and give all you can."
+Jesus said: "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much" Matthew 25:23 (ESV)
If you require a more accountable relationship with God and need help creating your own personalised plan, we would be delighted to discuss this further with you.
